GIVING WRITERS A HAND UP

Writers Supporting Writers

WCCW is more than just a conference. We’re also a nonprofit organization that supports writers in many different ways, thanks to the generous giving of our donors. We offer writers a hand-up, not a handout; all financial aid is partial so the recipient has skin in the game and is serious about their writing.

Are financial obstacles getting in the way of completing a writing project? Do you need new tech in order to achieve your writing goals? Apply for a grant today. Successful applicants are writers working on a specific project. They will demonstrate financial need and provide details about a work in progress. WCCW members may receive priority consideration.

The grant application opens for a two-week period twice a year. Grants are awarded as funds are available. If your application is not successful, you may re-apply after a one-year waiting period. Grant recipients will be asked to submit receipts and share a testimonial of impact for our donors.

Our micro-grant application period is currently open!

We'll be accepting applications until March 16, 2026.

Stacey Manganelli

The local magazine Stacey freelances for required her to turn in her work in Microsoft Word. She didn’t have Word, so she’d write up her articles in Google docs, which wasn’t even fully functional on the old computer, then go to the library to use their software! While that’s resourceful of her, it was cumbersome. Our technology grant enabled her to get a new-to-her computer and purchase Microsoft 365 software. The grant made her life easier and helped her move her writing career forward.

"Getting a new computer has been a huge blessing,” Stacey said. “And Microsoft 365 has simplified my life by allowing me to put my freelance articles in Word, instead of having to go to the library to do it. Thank you so much!”

BECOME A CHAMPION

Can you make a difference in a writer's life? Consider becoming part of the WCCW Community of Champions. A Champion is someone who commits to giving $20 per month/$240 per year or more to support the mission of WCCW by partnering with our nonprofit to support Christian writers. Champions receive an annual report of their tax-deductible donations, an annual thank you gift box, and are invited to:

  • Quarterly Champions Writers Salon, where we gather online to discuss writing and publishing, and hear from leading voices.

  • The annual in-person Community of Champions breakfast, held at the annual conference, where we celebrate you with giveaways, inspiration, and stories of your impact.
